Our fifth grade class decided that it would be fun to invite a fourth grade class to respond to a prompt. We invited Mrs. Northrup’s class. Our class brainstormed the prompt and here’s what they came up with:

Quick writes are timed writing prompts. They last only five minutes. Students were asked to choose a quick write from their journal and develop it further, or just polish it for publishing.

The Maya Civilization lasted for 3000 years. At the peak of their civilization, in the 10th century, the Maya mysteriously disappeared.

Recently we read an article in TFK about John F. Kennedy. 

President Kennedy said, “Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.”

We studied the causes of the Civil War. While we know that there was more than one cause, the primary cause was our disagreement over slavery. 

Our nation today is still divided over many issues. This year we will elect a new president.

What one issue do you think is the most important one that our new president will  have to deal with?
